Mike Holdstock, your Pelzer Associated Partner in Stockholm, Sweden
Mike creates safe spaces for change for individuals and groups. He does this by combining confrontation and support.
The safe spaces are used by individuals to establish trust in them selves, by groups to establish trust for others. The result is motivated and energised individuals who understand why they are doing what they do and with insight into where they want to go – and the drive to concentrate on this. The groups he works with develop the ability to see one another as complements rather than competitors, as support for each others aims and aspirations, as developers of collective and individual excellence.
Learning by doing
Mikes first 20 adult years were spent in various roles in sales situations with products ranging from carbon paper to swimming pool equipment, with a foray into impresario and entertainment management.
In 1992 he joined a collective teaching community, two years later taking his skills into the real world, first with unemployeds, then in heavy industry and IT, as adult trainer, facilitator and coach. The last two years have been spent adding to and honing coaching technique and skills.
Inspire them, support them and get out of the way
Mikes training was earlier more Action than Academic, in recent years adding the solid structures of the psychosynthesis model, Appreciative Inquiry and the Investors in People certification process to many personal development, facilitation and pedagogic skills. He is also trained in and practices two coaching models, both highly structured.
He has run his own company since 1976, including outsourced management assignments, in theatre, adult teaching institution, language training and play park fields. In his many assignments he combines teaching, change process and personal development skills for customers such as Swedish Steel, Stora Enso Paper, Adera IT, Swdish Postal Services IT, and government organisations. His coaching clients come from across the board, from directors of major listed corporations to two-man startups, executives, remedials and trainees.
